I think it’s because their parents treat me like one of their children.  I still get sat at the kids table and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else tbh.

They are technically my cousins but I call them my nieces in conversation because they are babies and I think it better describes our relationship (I have cool childless aunt energy)

I love them so much! It’s so fun to have little girlies who look up to you! I always thought my older cousins where the coolest when I was their age, and my cousins weren’t even that cool, so I try to be an actually cool version of that.

That makes total sense. I am gifted with three awesome baby nieces so I feel you on the cool childless aunt energy, too!
