Texas literally had the largest wildfire in recorded history just last year. 

For people who live in the Austin area, wildfires are actually a fairly big concern. Bastrop had a bad forest fire just over a decade ago that many Texans still remember well.

Just to be clear there have been 101 wildfires in California already this year. 

This is because of a rapidly changing climate. 

Period.

@ib2_real If the climate change explanation were true, Texas, which has twice the forest area of California, would have roughly twice the wildfires that destroy homes.

Texas continues to have wildfires that run out of control despite having a totally different climate and topography from California - climate and topography that make it much easier to not only fight fires but also build most housing better distanced from dangerous areas. 

I’m not defending California’s management, but I can guarantee you that Texas’ management is equally shit, it just manifests differently
