I've always wondered (tho not enough to look into it) why MRIs are so costly. Why aren't MRI machines mass-produced?

fwiw, not sure if it saved my life, but an MRI saved me from becoming a quadriplegic.

Sad that capitalism will ensure this is for the rich only...
