In the U.S., we have “casual Fridays” at work, where you can dress down a little (maybe jeans and a polo instead dress slacks and button down), but the root of “casual Friday” is actually in Hawaii, when mainland companies (mostly banks) were pushing employees to dress professionally every day, and in the 60s, they began to allow employees to wear Aloha shirts to work on Fridays. Hence, Aloha Friday.
