Distressor is amazing for this- also can cut out a lot of high end (especially using samples optimized for that hi-end clarity). Make drums, group/send them to an aux, slam with this and play with eq/multiband compression on the hi freqz!

oooh perfect! I want. Yeah it's the worse when you find the right sample but it sounds like it belongs in a track made for a Las Vegas nightclub.
