Distressor is amazing for this- also can cut out a lot of high end (especially using samples optimized for that hi-end clarity).  Make drums, group/send them to an aux, slam with this and play with eq/multiband compression on the hi freqz!

ooo, I’d probably recommend some analog emulation here. i’m personally a huge fan of everything plugin alliance has to offer and will wholeheartedly vouch for their entire catalogue and ethos. individual plugin prices can be steep but they offer an all-in-one yearly subscription for a great price.
