Doesn’t Eigen layer change this and require way more uptime? It’s a reason I’d buy a LRT over creating an eigen pod.

Eigenlayer isn't live yet, but I don't assume that it would require higher uptime than a vanilla validator node. Remember, Eigenlayer is repurposing the decentralized security of Ethereum for other purposes, they benefit from our robust staking network, it makes sense to extend that.

I asked this on the Eigen discord a while back and this is what they said

I don't have any desire to argue with Eigenlayer people. All I can tell you is is that Eigenlayer is co-opting the Ethereum security network BECAUSE of the deeply decentralized staking layer, and we would be useless to them without it.
