@barmstrong said something about "action produces information". there's all the solarpunk "abundance mindset". "@base is for everyone" "if you want to succeed in tech, move to SV" there's a luxury of information in mainstream tech, but anons aren't just wholly separate communities, they are "all the alt accounts". everyone lies and holds on to their unvalidated technical edge, to some degree. the social aspect is different, most of the action isn't hyped, shilled, or retrospectively lionized. it's not about the confidence in the anon's performance, but prestige of their remaining impact(s). severely allergic to manufactured consensus or puffery. OP may be m/m, but any replyguy/dunker is 1/n, and "scene X has perfect memory". anon leadership is this power of "the prestige". it may be as "erudite" as "Publius"-style screeds. it may be as "simple" as social engineering with "Bcc:" & OSINT maybe something else. more art than practice. prestige without confidence. edge without validation.

Super interesting. We should articulate this better. Would you recommend any readings? Might take this up as my end of the year project.

no recommendations, that's for doxxed mercenary types who live on a different coast for every season anon is an artform. believe in something. then read the controversy around it. question everything. your choices are to ideate, speak, or act on any answers you may find. gl, anon 🫡
