I feel like we need to have conversations about balancing “artists should be able to price their work however they want” vs blatant cash grabs that seek to extract from the community by riding hype

artists think about this all the time—i know i do. i just launched a collection at 0.03, embracing the hype. which isn’t a bad thing btw. anyway, made my choice between free and 0.05, but free doesn’t keep you motivated long enough. also why is easier to farm tokens or chase meme coins than sell art? the thing is people will throw the same amount at meme coins, do it 10 times over, and not feel like it’s being ‘extracted.’ still, here for that conversation. how can i do it better?

i think in this specific instance, it stings a bit that you weren't really here over the summer/when the markets on farcaster weren't great, despite having done so well from it in the spring so when you come back after the market returns, and essentially immediately drop a collection of 1200 x 0.03 -- i start to feel skeptical about your intentions on navigating the farcaster environment i'm not saying you have malicious intent, but it gives weird vibes to me. was a huge fan of outcasts and would love to see you win https://warpcast.com/six/0x22819bcc

100% agree -- outcasts was a novel drop and was engaging to the community Outlands felt derivative and didn't really capture the zeitgeist the way outcasts did. It felt like a cash grab booster pack Then another mint as soon as the next zeitgeist token launches -- feels more opportunistic than anything else

you wouldn’t believe it, but i received more appreciation for outlands than for outcasts. some people straight away said they loved it better than outcasts. and it was derivative.

You're right, I don't believe it. Outcasts was/is culturally relevant, some people still rock it as their PFP Outlands did not capture the zeitgeist, and neither does anonarchy, because it feels like you're chasing a meme with a veneer of art
