Farcaster should have (near-)unlimited length messages like twitter. Having used it for a while, I feel like twitter's long message feature improves its user experience and its usefulness for high quality discussion.

Yes. Mastodon/ActivityPub certainly is not. bluesky/at is becoming just an App. Fc have conflict of interest with clients. Lens’ API and even Polygon RPC can be ddos and killed by firewall anytime (so is FC). GFW have tried ddos Nostr and it survived. I don’t think at curr stage anyone else can handle that.

Byte count is a wrong design for CJK lang especially if you’re building social network. there were a debate back in days between Twitter Tokyo office and Jack Dorsey; Jack adapted the correct way and now Jp is no2 user group of Twitter (if you count Korean and Chinese it’s > USA)

清醒一点罗老师 these are bots; also korean don’t really use twitter they use Fb more. It’s ok to like Farcaster and I will be super glad if fc have lots of users. Meanwhile it’s extremely painful to see how American centric Farcaster is right now.
