My own experience is the opposite of this. I feel like I would have been a significantly worse person without the influence of EA ideology. https://twitter.com/nickcammarata/status/1725958636529480155

After achieving my financial freedom, I always dreamed of doing social work that could benefit the needy not just for few days but for rest of their life. That’s what motivates me to keep going everyday. We can termed this ideology as EFFECTIVE ALTRUISM?

EA as I understand it is more about maximizing earnings in order to give it all away.

In SBF one of the interview with Al Jazeera Journalist we have heard something like this billionaire living a normal life and want to earn as much he can to give it all away(not the same words but sense was the same).

The "normal life" thing definitely proved fake given what we now know about his personal spending preferences

This all came in light when it was too late to know. Their travelling and hotel expenses were also in millions. They didn’t spend just millions for personal benefits but it was in Billion. Their whole system was suspicious from Day 1. But again, we all know that too late.

May be it was EA. They were distributing money to hotels and travel agencies.
