I often hear people say they want to move out of the city to raise kids.

But ironically the best place I can think of for my future kids to grow up would be Manhattan. That’s what I would have wanted for myself if I had known it was an option.

people say this about NYC but that's never been my experience (the soulless part). Maybe it's something to do with having gone to school there and having lots of friends that live there.

Teach children how to be dependent upon themselves and no one else that’s gonna be the key to survival in the coming days. It’s not gonna be who has the nicest car who has the best flat in New York City or downtown Manhattan it’s going to be who can survive what we’re about to face.
