There is a lot happening in religion; you got your dinosaur institutions girding up for their last stand, you have the Divine Feminine ascending, you have the whispering of crypto and AI religion. In short, it's kind of like all institutions be they governments, business organizations, whatever  at this point. Teetering on the edge of oblivion, with wildly divergent strands weaving together to create a New.

INERTIA OF BELIEF

I agree with @sophia-indrajaal that our religions no longer need a transcendent Creator. We can also consider feminism and crypto as religions. Additionally, I would include transhumanism, godless conservatism, effective accelerationism, and many more. 

However, I disagree with her dismissal of established institutions like the Catholic Church. Every worldview has its inertia, and a dominant religion with a billion believers is like a massive ship that has gained momentum. Even if its engines fail, the ship can still move forward for hundreds of years.
