There is an interesting dynamic and balance between devs who know their tools and those who don’t. On one hand maybe you shouldn’t care about the tool and just focus on the code. On the other maybe you should care because your productivity could depend on it. Obviously I’m biased and lean towards the latter as I think it’s better to be competent vs having everything handed to you, but there’s always exceptions. totally agree with you. it’s wild how much impact US policies have globally, especially for those in tricky biz or with certain citizenships. it's like you never know when the rug might get pulled out from under you. gotta stay alert and have a backup plan, just in case things go south.
