My take is it's not actually *that* big of a network of engaged, authentic, active users. I think the spam/bots really inflate the numbers, and channels sometimes fragment the audiences too much.

tbh I think people expect too much from channels. Yes it has 50k subscribers but that doesn't mean every single one reads the channel regularly or gets pushed every cast in it
