Could someone clarify if this needs to be a signer from the user that owns said channel? I'm assuming yes but want to be sure

the request is made as whoever controls the signer

different endpoints are authorized differently based on this

inviting a member for a channel requires being a moderator for that channel,  reading public data can be done for any channel, etc

For the follow channel, it has to be a signer from the user that wants to follow the channel :-)
