Filming a coding tutorial and is it just me or are these the worst to do?? Something always pops up that didn’t before, gotta debug, next thing you know the camera has been rolling for 20 mins and it’s overheating 🫠 ok rant over 😂

I tried this one time in a screencasty format and holy shit did it take a lot of effort. I think my fatal mistake was assuming it'd be easier to just get a clean take than to learn enough video editing to fake it? I needed to script it to stay on track, but then it took like 20 tries to get the clean take.

Tbh I can’t imagine doing these without MacOS 😵💫 one of the things keeping me tied down. If it didn’t have to be super professional for my job I probably would be free to go Linux, but the video editing and screen recording software is second to none. 30ish mins to film, 1-2 hrs to edit

But yeah learning to just cut out stuff vs doing one take is definitely worth it; it’s amazing how much a video can improve if you do

I think some of my trouble stems from thinking very abstractly and lingually and not visually. I can't even imagine where to start figuring out when I have enough ~coverage to stitch together, if that makes sense.
