@pushix @stevedylandev.eth Curious if you guys have had a chance to compare ZedAI with Cursor. I know you both don't love the weight of VS Code style editors but curious if ZedAI feels like it keeps pace with Cursor's productivity gains

Can't say I can speak to it much since I haven't used Cursor yet, but that's primarily because I value editor performance and efficiency over AI capabilities. I use the AI stuff in Zed from time to time and it works just like I want it to; I ask it a question like I might as a question to another dev after I've exhausted all my other options, and it does a great job. In spots where I want to automate more, like writing a unit test, the context feature in Zed AI is awesome. But yeah if you happen to read the blog post on my site you'll probably gather that having a well integrated vim mode is way more important to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Haha yeah I figured that may be your stance. I’d like to use Zed instead of a VSC clone, but likely won’t make the switch just yet It’s only a matter of time until every IDE has something similar or better than what cursor has done given all the hype it gets and then we’ll have the best of both worlds
