How many people actually reach out and ask how you‘re doing? Everytime I stop asking folks to just see who‘d reach out themselves it’s an interesting experiment Back in school if you missed days you got letters, calls, messages. Out of school -> „adults“ don’t seem to care? Maybe part of why people are calling a loneliness epidemic? Darn it just ask people how they are doing and check in.

Since graduating college, I started sending emails occasionally to update people about my life, gradually adding (and removing) people to my list. At the end, I always ask people to reply, even if it's just to say "got your email!" And every time, I get at least one reply that says "I'm so glad you send these! I'm so bad at replying, but this time I wanted to tell you..." Not many people reach out first, but relationships are two-way streets.
