Minimalism and Conceptual Art Minimalism was developed by artists looking for simplicity and depth of concept. Artists like Donald Judd and Sol LeWitt explored clean lines, geometrical shapes, and mental concepts where viewers had to be involved mentally. This move away from the ostentation and embellishment signified an important change in the art philosophy.

a little insight from my mind A small sculpture carved around 40,000 years ago, is believed to be the oldest known example of figurative art. It was given the German name Löwenmensch, meaning “lion-person” (as it was found in Germany) and was crafted through use of a piece of mammoth tusk.
