M4 pro definitely had me intrigued this year. Think the M5 pro will be the one that i finally upgrade to. The nano texture display looks really impressive 

I actually bought a beefy GPU for my pc at the beginning of this year with the intention of doing more local LLM stuff but never really got to it

if you’re fed up tho, that m4 has a beautiful display that’s 2x as bright as m1 (and roughly that much brighter than their desktop displays). the huge ram option makes local llm viable, which is very interesting for personal diary type applications, and anything where you don’t want to leak training data.
