is it just me or is perplexity totally washed? they have no moat, have barely any market share, lack clear direction, wasting money on celebrity marketing, the list of red flags goes on. who is funding this?

don't get me wrong, i love their search product. but this is not an $18 billion dollar company

They have in house models and are iterating insanely fast. Exit path could be simply selling to Microsoft and helping them leap frog Google.

they dead ass have the worst API of any provider, if they spent a week focusing on that instead of ads or promotions with other companies or etc i’d feel a lot more confident in them as a company
