No problem with the honesty. It’s just unnecessarily hostile.

Don't mistake her frustration for hostility. It's hard not to be frustrated with the badge system when you've seen it taken away from so many people for no apparent reason, only to have it come back a week later with no explanation. From a user's point of view, it seems arbitrary and opaque.
