Farcaster’s got this cool, intentional vibe—early on, you had to DM co-founder Dan Romero just to get in, and now it’s opened up with options like a $3-$5 sign-up or using your phone number for free. But even with that, it’s not as simple as joining X or Instagram. If I were inviting a friend, I might worry they’d get stuck setting up a wallet or balk at the idea of paying “storage rent” (like $7 a year in ETH for 5,000 posts). It’s not a huge hurdle for crypto fans, but for someone new? It might feel like too much, and I’d hate for them to think I roped them into something complicated.
