The sooner we recognize that not all memes/coins are inherently bad, the sooner we can unlock the full potential of global onchain economy. Remember what was considered “bad” or "unserious" 50 years ago and how much of it became culture defining. Memes are extremely powerful, creative tools for communication. They move fast, spread ideas like wildfire, and they might just be the key to taking our little crypto bubble mainstream. At @base we're constantly building new ways to empower the creators behind memes, content and art so they can earn a fair share of the value they generate. pumpdotfun may not be built on base but it's part of the broader movement to generate value through culture and creativity and bring more people onchain. Historically speaking, though, most have been bad up to this point. The rate of extraction on a historical basis far outweighs the rate of success. This has also done a lot of damage to the reputation of the industry as a whole. I think that starting from the hole we find ourselves in within the court of public opinion and arriving at a destination that sees tokenization of everything as a positive is a long road ahead.
