Personal Story Having a hearing loss can be difficult. But trying to explain it to someone who has normal hearing can be even harder. For example, try explaining the difference between “hearing” and “understanding” to someone with normal hearing. It can take hours. To help provide a better understanding of what it’s like to really live with hearing loss, I am explaining things from my personal experience: Hearing loss can increase stress, induce sorrow and cause frustration and embarrassment. 5/n I decided to do: I started to hone my listening skill in different ways. Let me share you a secret – Simple : I always focus at one person at a time and learnt to listen carefully. It helped to make progress at many levels. I must admit that it didn’t happen overnight. Involving in group discussion was extremely stressful but I decided to overcome. I just avoid it in casual meet but I do participate if its business related. It is easy to do since its revolving around the particular topic in business oriented. The point is many people do not know about the issues what people are going through despite everyone has their own trouble. If you find someone having hearing loss, try to figure out to be flexible in communication.
