One of the starkest findings from Map the Nounsverse: over 50% of all executed proposals have no updates on Propdates.wtf. Social accountability is critical to maintaining a decentralized effort like Nouns. But there is room for deeper onchain acccountability without slowing teams down. Especially once teams are funded, sometimes with 1% or more of the DAO's treasury. From our research, at-best, 1-2% of updates are provided in other channels like Farcaster, X, or in the Nouncil/Nouns Discord servers. Some of these proposals with no updates/abandoned are six-figures+ in USD. Nouns has several other social accountability mechanisms, including @maty's work on proposal updates, proptracker.wtf, and @nounswap 's treasury data. ….. to be fair, Propdates wasn’t created until Prop 391 😆 implemented after Prop 412…..So technically only 214 proposals would qualify for this, meaning they knew about Propdates & the expectation of an update upon proposing. Also there are a bunch of proposals that are maintenance ones such as staking or claiming ETH, not sure any updates have been given because the transaction automatically happens. That’s the issue with data, there are always a few stories you can tell with it.

@bixbite I want the numbers to tell the truth! Can props before 412 not provide Propdates? Do all new props know about Propdates and understand it is expected to provide updates (social layer, not suggesting it should be required...altho...). Good point re: maintenance/admin props. I will see if I can parse those out.

They can..... but I mean some of them were already done and executed and people have moved on, no propdates are needed if it was complete.... an example of this would be Prop 26, 41, 251, 262 all of those are complete (they were proposed by the same individual and it was all part of a campaign to create the clothes and then display them) .... lots more instances like that, which is why I believe the numbers are much better than what appears 💛

Def, makes sense. I cross referenced with @maty list and saw quite a bit of overlap. Tho some of those deliquent/no update props are bit older vintage in some cases as well. Harder to track the what happened/epilogue for some of those.
