1. Channels I read but didn't comment on now feel like exclusive readonly clubs. Tho even before if I dropped a question post, good chance it never gets eyeballs.

OK, what would make it better: surely you could instead of open or closed off interpret post activity, browse, etc. And make a call on whether that person is not a bot etc. And gate that way. 

Pls expedite report spam to earn. Will be all over it.

Many, but not all. And now I find channels I want to jump in on, feels like I am too late. Or at least not clear on how I become eligible to post.
