i've said it once and i'll say it again. degen is a secret merkle initiative supposed to incentivise us, the users, to help improve the algo and weed out bots and bad actors. some of you may argue that degen is the reason we have bots in the first place, and i partially agree, but merkle is forward looking and they know bots would come eventually no matter what, so they moved forward with it asap. jk (or not?)
