I have kept silent about this moment for so long. I didn’t believe it myself; certainly, others would laugh it off as delusion on all sides. As the years have passed, it’s become increasingly clear that what happened was a prophesy.
Which is personally a difficult word to venture.
I am a woman; it feels odd and possibly arrogant to publicly talk about destiny.
I am a late bloomer. I struggled with the “simple, natural” things.. My peers got higher degrees, got married, climbed the ladder, bought houses and amassed trophies.
My focus was elsewhere - I asked, seeked and knocked and the treasures I received are incommensurable, and so difficult to write about.
Yet write I must! For I know my newsletter experiment will “work” - I will find the people whom I am destined to find. It is at once, all up to me, and not at all in my hands.
