The Forestry Society stands alongside Ethereum to protect its core values.

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has just announced the establishment of the Forestry Society – an external advisory group that will assist EF in preserving the identity of Ethereum with pillars such as open-source code, security, privacy, and anti-censorship.

The name "Forestry" stems from the idea of viewing Ethereum as a vast "forest" that needs to be nurtured for sustainable growth.

The Society acts as the "forest rangers" for the "Ethereum forest," ensuring that the value of the Ethereum ecosystem is not diminished: Ethereum can only thrive if the developer community continues to build on these principles.

If the Society plays its role well, Ethereum will maintain its appeal and trustworthiness, while the EF remains fully committed to preserving the core identity of the network.
