The children of politicians should not be subject to ridicule for non-political activity— including accompanying their parents to work as most children do. It’s worth noting that I have all of 17-year-old Gus Walz’s disclosed diagnoses—ADHD, Anxiety. “Nonverbal Learning Disorder” is not a formal diagnosis, but my Autism Spectrum Disorder with Dyspraxia and Apraxia of Speech can present as “Nonverbal Learning Disorder.” Some of the Internet’s peanut gallery about how Gus embodies himself evokes a saying his father uses as a policy vision: “Mind your own damn business!”

I'm at the age to remember before this crap was acceptable. There really is a visible, painful decline of Community and mores happening in real time, and this stuff gets me down. Not just politicians kids who are blameless for their parents being in the public eye, but everywhere. And as a side note, good on you for posting thoughtful stuff in spite of your anxiety!
