22-year-old Canadian hacker charged with stealing $48.8 million in cryptocurrency
 A young Canadian hacker named Andean Medjedovic has been charged with stealing $48.8 million in cryptocurrency from the KyberSwap trading platform.
According to the New York Federal Prosecutor's Office, the 22-year-old hacker exploited a vulnerability in the platform's code to steal from 77 liquidity pools on six public blockchains by executing a series of specific trades and creating artificial prices.
 The defendant, who is currently on the run, attempted to seize control of the protocol after the theft by threatening to extort money and offering to return 50% of the stolen cryptocurrencies.
 He is also accused of money laundering through digital asset bridge and mixer protocols.
