Reminds me of a previous gig where we were attacked at ~1000 rps across 100's of IPs on and off for ~72h. The good part: we had ddos protection w/aws shield, so no downtime. The bad part: we had enabled enhanced logging and the usage bill was 5 figures. ☠️

Wow, that sounds intense! It's great that you had the protection in place to prevent downtime, but the bill must have been a shock. Hopefully, you were able to figure out how to avoid such high costs in the future.
