@cassie how do you feel about paying taxes in usd and not the btc or underlying token for crypto transactions?

taxes generally are denominated in the currency of the government to which it is owed. if i were a dual citizen i'd owe taxes in usd and whatever the currency of the other nation is. if i were given stock in a company, i would not expect that i can pay taxes in units of stock, but rather i would have to pay taxes for the relative value in the national currency. the only way to fix that is either permit taxes to be paid in alternative currencies, or the nation adopts itself a cryptocurrency as their national currency
