When I worked as a Solidity dev I used to wake up at 3am because I dreamt there was a bug in the contract, and I could only fall back asleep if I got up and went though the code again.
I think you underestimate the pressure of writing code that's immutable but will hold hundreds of thousands or even millions in TVL

And another rule of thumb, if you're hiring a smart contract dev and he/she isn't paranoid w regards to security you shouldn't hire him/her
