In the last minute of extra time of the quarterfinal match with Ghana, with the score 1-1, El Pistolero saved Uruguay from scoring by knocking the ball off the goal ribbon with his hands. Suarez was sent off, Asamoah Gyan hit the crossbar, the match turned into a penalty shootout, in which Uruguay won.

One of the greatest moments in the history of football.

this was so heartbreaking to watch at the time. unbelievable.
