If SSO'ing into apps via Google/Apple required you to use another mobile app/extension, SSO'ing would have never gained adoption. It's highly irrational to think that we'd ever see real user growth with today's wallet setups. Passkey-based web wallets like CBSW solve this.

I find that passkeys work great on mobile but when you need your phone to unlock something on your computer, and it sometimes doesn’t work because of Bluetooth, it’s too much friction.

You don't need Bluetooth for passkeys?

For the Windows based ones you do, because they rely on your phone Camera.

Oh. You should use 1Password to store your passkeys. Makes them cross-device and you don't have worry about any of this.
