What did you do too soon?

I help advise a startup and they went to fundraise too soon without enough DAUs. 

They waited too long to ship changes to the app that would grow, or at least hold steady, the number of users so they could then focus on raising.

I think it was a little bit of a chicken and egg problem, if I’m being honest. They definitely have something worth exploring, but need funds to flesh it out further (hire/rehire engineers, etc.) To get funds though, they need to flesh it out more. Partly it was bad timing because they launched into the bear.
