Many don't like onchain monetary rewards like tipping/airdrops/boosts because they feel unauthentic

I can see that, but also

Mr Beast, arguably the top creator in the world, has been rewarding his followers with cold cash and Teslas, while building one of the most loyal followings I've seen

What's the difference?

That's one thing I don't get with people. They don't like the tipping meta but if its cash, it's fine? The only difference is you only get it at the end of the season but everything else is the same.

I think if I did something similar with pure ETH or USDC the reactions might be similar… seems to be an onchain thing

So it's because it's degen? Do they still view degen as meme token? I can't actually answer this one since I love the tipping meta.

Come to think of it though, I'd put more effort for something with rewards I can put on my wallet now than at the end of the month.

Sorry, I don't think I understood you fully with the previous one. So you mean if Mr Beast will do the same thing but with ETH, it won't work as much? Or if this purple app does the tipping with ETH but with a similar situation, it'd be the same results?
