we need to ensure when the metaverse is live there is no off button or all powerful control

blockchains will preserve digital oxygen such that people can’t just switch it off

With blockchain helping to prevent anyone from having an 'off' button, it seems like a good safeguard (not sure what term to use). But considering how much people love power, do you think it's really possible to ensure that this 'off' button doesn't exist?
