(1/2)Okay, let's talk a bit about the community first. The core of any tokenā€™s growth is its community. After building that community, you need marketing and development. Degenā€™s community is fire, but can *everyone* here do marketing? Hell no. So if the Degen team canā€™t handle marketing themselves, instead of banning people every season, why not ask the community for donations? Personally, Iā€™d throw in 20% of my monthly tokens to fund development and ads. Farcasterā€™s a decentralized space, right? In decentralized worlds, you canā€™t really tell whatā€™s high-quality and whatā€™s trashā€”everyoneā€™s a ā€œcreator.ā€ But is just *being* a creator enough for Degenā€™s growth? Nah, I donā€™t think so. The biggest communities are built by regular people. You donā€™t need ā€œtop-tierā€ contentā€”you need loyal supporters. But banning folks kinda wrecked that loyalty. rain 5001 $degen

(2/2)Hereā€™s what I think would help Degen grow: - Ask the community for donations and use that cash to pay crypto influencers to hype Degen. - Find solid partnerships. - Expand Degens use cases, like breaking into gaming to make things more fun. Lastly, mad respect for all your hard work, but big ecosystems are built by connecting small pieces. You banned thousands of those piecesā€”people who couldā€™ve had your back in tough times, like summer 2024 when they locked up their assets to support Degen. Oh, and donā€™t forget: Weā€™re not just dead weight and fat. We helped turn Degen from a tiny token into a whole family.

When you say ā€œyour tokensā€ do you mean new supply being distributed or a portion of your own vault

My thoughts are end tipping allocations immediately (end of season) as with the 80% cut, it is virtually nothing to a min lock person without a good boost (from openrank score[?]). The attached image is someone's actual allo. Why spread this out for 3 years. Tipping is dead at this level. Use these funds for marketing.

Agree with you. I have said several times that people who are locking their tokens, are trying to get some income. You canā€™t expect people to lock their tokens to just tip others without expecting something for Myself. Suppose iā€™m not a creator, what should i do? Just tip others? Why the hell should i? How about myself? If i am not a creator, should i leave the platform?

Well said. Jacek to need to upgrade his team to do some next level things last season was nothing rather than a chaos.

I understand that itā€™s not essential to have ā€œtop-tierā€ content, but rather committed users. However, content still plays a crucial role. For a vibrant community, there must be a balance loyalty alone doesnā€™t promote growth, and content lacking a devoted audience canā€™t endure.

I feel you on this, and I tend to agree. When markets are pumping, fundamentals donā€™t seem to matter much, but in long, rough markets like this one, they definitely do. I think creating consistent inflows could really change the game for us. Paid memberships to the Degen channel, paid pins, raindropsā€”those are solid ideas that could build up a treasury over time. From there, we could funnel that back into initiatives voted on by the community through the DAO or within the Degen channel itself. Iā€™ll definitely be thinking more about this too.

Actually the idea is not bad, I firmly believe and in fact I confirm that the community is the most important thing in a project that is developed on the web3, in fact, when this happens, in a certain way the project ceases to be 100% of its creator, since being in a sufficiently decentralized environment, all holders are owners of a part of $degen. So, for me the marketing part is important and that marketing should not only include degen, but "Farcaster" which is the main protocol where it is hosted, so, it seems to me a very good idea to take part in the background to collaborate in this task.
