@max and I were on a call talking about names for the product we were working on pre-L2 and he said base and we both looked at each other and knew it was special that product didn't work, nor did the two after it. but when we started building the L2, it was immediately obvious that base was the perfect name.

i expect that 90% of builders should start on L2, then migrate to an L3 if they achieve enough scale that they need "dedicated blockspace". the one exception to this is games that are doing *everything* onchain from the beginning - there, it may make sense to start with L3s. L2 = AWS EC2 L3 = your own data center

i don't have a clear answer for this yet - even just a few months ago, it felt like we could feature everything people built across the channels we have (onchain daily, coinbase, social, etc). today, that's starting to feel less viable. we're just starting to think about this — open to any ideas or suggestions!

we're focused on making the 4337 experience work end-to-end in a really great way right now with better developer tools and end user experiences. as that matures, we're excited about supporting efforts to enshrine account abstraction into the protocol itself (e.g. 3074) — we prefer incremental approaches vs big bang

i think ethereum governance is doing a pretty damn good job. i particularly appreciate the latest trend towards teams sharing their perspectives on priorities via writing - huge improvement! i am grateful to be building as part of ethereum every day.
