Stumbled across this information and some interesting analytics today: The number of new Farcaster users has moved into a low growth phase, from a daily peak of about 15,000 in early February to about 650 currently. Farcaster's DAU has dropped from a peak of 100,000 in early July to 60,000, a decline of about 40%. According to @filippoarman dune, posts and interactions are down more than 60% from the peak. - link (https://dune.com/filarm/lens-vs-farcaster) In May this year, Farcaster completed a $150 million Series A funding round at a $1 billion valuation led by Paradigm. Farcaster is also a decentralized social network championed by @vitalik.eth. Below I will describe my opinion on this πŸ‘‡ https://dune.com/filarm/lens-vs-farcaster

Even though Warpcast isn't growing as fast as it did in March, I think traffic is dropping due to a lack of quality content. Why isn't there any? Because they even technically provided the opportunity and even pay $5 to the top 100 Influencers, I don’t think $5 is enough to motivate people to create quality content. And Warpcast is centralized and has to comply with regulators, so uploading videos is blocked and text editing to posts is not done, and it's discouraging, let alone promoting. And none of the many ecosystem projects are mentioned. Not degen, not build, not Zora, not Base, not Moxie, which made Farcaster interesting to a wide audience. Feb/March - Degen raised the asset to 70k but still no support, at least in the case of being able to swap Degen for Warps as many have trouble buying them, it's an obvious solution and everyone would benefit, but no.

You may agree with me or not, but I believe the drop in farcaster activity is mainly due to market impact and weak scam projects that have devastated user balances and faith, as well as poor founder support.

I'd disagree with your take on the bigger picture. πŸ˜‡ Things you mention are tiny details and user inconveniences which every network has. To be fair I don't even think we have lack of interesting content ... we don't have much of a unique content - which is the ony thing which would attract users to switch. Which e.g. X does have - it's now the best world's newsroom.

I'm pretty indifferent but thought I'd share my opinion as someone who just recently joined 2 months ago as my X account was suspended. 🍎 Warpcaster was dull for me at first, friends gifted me like 30 Degen and I had no idea what it was or what the worth was. I'm still not a fan of a token called 'Degen' purely from a contrarian's standpoint. Onchain summer was what got me posting often, and the rounds are what hooked me even more. I wasn't getting recognition at first which was annoying, then I started to notice the overwhelming bot problem. Worldcoin/EventBrite/TalentProtocol all solve this. But for some reason people are either manually moderating (centralized). Or using it for promotion (marketing) and the wringing of the towel type of content and it's making me less and less excited. However, I will just try to focus on what I can do and write about the things that have meaning. Highlighting as many as the good people as I can with my UI/UX Skillset.
