Stumbled across this information and some interesting analytics today: The number of new Farcaster users has moved into a low growth phase, from a daily peak of about 15,000 in early February to about 650 currently. Farcaster's DAU has dropped from a peak of 100,000 in early July to 60,000, a decline of about 40%. According to @filippoarman dune, posts and interactions are down more than 60% from the peak. - link (https://dune.com/filarm/lens-vs-farcaster) In May this year, Farcaster completed a $150 million Series A funding round at a $1 billion valuation led by Paradigm. Farcaster is also a decentralized social network championed by @vitalik.eth. Below I will describe my opinion on this π https://dune.com/filarm/lens-vs-farcaster

Farcaster was never going to be able to sustain the parabolic growth that Degen brought it. Most of that growth unfortunately was people who werenβt here to add value but instead to try and extract it. I think the slow and steady approach is the right one. Win people over time and get them so hooked that they donβt wanna use any other apps.

great point, just the other day I saw a post by @bfg and he brought up a point like this, that users are not loyal to the PLATFORMs that host them. https://warpcast.com/bfg/0x3e255256 And I wonder how things would have turned out if @vitalik.eth hadn't used Farcaster

intriguing question π€ but working on good distribution is part of founder's mojo and DWR does it really well
