The Daniel Arsham mint made me realize I’m not interested in completely free gasless minting. Counterintuitively, it takes away the value of the signal when there’s no cost or friction to it. At that point it’s just a like button, not even a “super like” It is sick that it’s technically feasible now though

yea i love arsham's pokemon stuff and basketball obviously but didn't mint cuz i just didn't really see the point in it would actually rather pay $100 to mint and get shipped a small 3d printed version of that ball

I think there is a place for them but it has to be more of a collectable that has no value or something to use reward fans later (access if you have it etc). Its kind of like the poster, concert ticket, free gift at a gallery opening etc. sometimes its just a good memory and sometimes it becomes something like a Lost Robbie.

Kinda some overlap with some thinking about the mints on create.party.app Finitude is a good thing.
