This was very humbly worded; jalil created a tool for artists that: - is fully open source - is self-hosted - follows the 24h mint mechanics of zora/rodeo - but takes no platform fee - price determined by gwei - is on mainnet - is default maximally onchain (STORE2, not ipfs, etc) For free. *That's* based.

One thing that's kind of elegant is that while it technically doesn't have to be on mainnet, it's kind of pointless to deploy an NFT on an L2 with this mechanic because the gas will be negligible for the artist. You're actually incentivized to mint on mainnet in this regard, if you want to use this tool

Just realized something else related to this which is that the 24 hours rule is based on block count, not timestamp - so it makes even less sense on L2s since blocks are ~6x shorter? L2 mint on Mint would last 4 hours.
