There a saying among the best runners I know: “you run too fast when you have to run slow and too slow when you have to run fast” referring to the amateurs runners. 
If you want to run fast, you have to run slow

Running fast is the only thing that makes running even remotely fun, though :(

I think runners have a tendency to try to be heroes on Strava and run faster than they should. Most of the time this is a bad thing
