They said they don't want to decentralize them until they have the mechanism right, otherwise they'll end up ossifying something into the protocol that doesn't work

Logic makes sense to me. Channels are still experimental

and here I am, waiting for them to decentralize them as promised.

If you haven’t listened to the Farcaster dev call, you should. There are some big changes coming to channels. 

I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. I do like how some of it sounds but I also have concerns about limiting the visibility of channel content. 

I’ll reserve judgement until learning more.
