I would be down to just nix all follow notifications:

1. Bulk are "low quality" users, and thus spammy notifications
2. Even the good quality users, there's minimal value in getting notified that they followed you

these days i actually only want DM and reply notifications. those are the only things that are actionable

but that wont happen cuz engagement notifications keep us retained lol

youre right tho on the follow notifications being good early on

For people with less than 500 or so followers I think it’s good signal to get follower notifs

At a certain number, I agree with you. I don’t look at mine and wouldn’t miss them if they are gone

Dopamine hit from getting a follow is always great. I actually like twitters follow notifs where the display a detailed card for quality follows

Some times ago people like me (little profile) were happy to get followed by big names and QCed for appreciation. Now you risk to get banned. So better don’t know 😅

The way the bots spam likes on cast is annoying 
Will see about 8 notifications, then boom it’s from bots

Every time get a follow notification, get excited, but then check and it’s just another spam account following me!🫠🤦🏻‍♂️

Most people find it courteous to reciprocate when followed by a high quality account and being notified qould be a good way to know they did follow.

Tbh I been facing the same problem… they go ahead to spam like all casts and that’s bare crazy and cringe to me 😭😂

Also, every once in a while, I see somebody that I want to connect with follow me so it gives me a good time to message them.
